5 Kitchen Tools Under 5 Yuan I Use Every Day (That Nobody Talks About)

I’ve noticed a pattern: the more useful something is, the less anyone talks about it.

Because there’s no money in it.

Those few-yuan tools? No influencer will write a dedicated review because there’s nothing to monetize. But that doesn’t mean they’re not great — in fact, I think these are the real «hidden gems.»

Today I’m sharing 5 things in my kitchen that I use every single day but you probably don’t know exist. All under 5 yuan:

#1: Long-spout oil dispenser

The kind with a thin long spout, perfect for small-mouth containers. I used to use regular oil bottles — every time I poured, oil would run down the bottle and make the neck all sticky. The long-spout version slides right in, no dripping. Available at supermarkets for about 3 yuan each.

#2: Mini silicone brush

For brushing honey, egg wash, sauces. I used to wrap paper towels around chopsticks before I learned these existed. Silicone doesn’t shed, the bristles are fine — indispensable for toast-making. About 10 yuan for a set, but I got mine free with a sauce purchase.

#3: Sink strainer bags

Some of you probably know this one, but I’ll say it anyway: after washing dishes, food residue in the drain always requires hand-scraping. With these strainer bags, when full you just lift and toss — saves so much hassle. Suggest changing daily or they’ll smell.

#4: Microwave lid

Not plastic wrap — it’s a silicone lid that goes directly over bowls. When heating, vent holes automatically open. More eco-friendly than plastic wrap, great seal so soup won’t splash. About 4-5 yuan each. I bought two: one for covering, one as a plate heat pad.

#5: Mini bottle opener

Those tiny bottle openers, works for cans and bottle caps. I used to use big knives before, ended up hurting my hand. About 2 yuan each. I bought three — kitchen, living room, balcony, one in each spot.

All self-purchased, no ads. If one of these sounds useful to you, consider it my recommendation fee waived.
