China's $43B Subsidy Program Just Opened — Here's How to Get Yours

Ladies! Big news!!!

April 10, the National Development and Reform Commission officially released the second batch of 625 billion yuan in ultra-long-term special bonds for consumer trade-in subsidies. The first batch dropped in January. 2,500 billion total for the year.

Honestly, this round is even better than last time. Phones, appliances, AC units, computers — basically everything big in your home upgrade wishlist.

How to claim:

All 29 provinces are now accepting applications:

  1. Check if your target product qualifies (energy-efficient appliances, new phones, etc.)
  2. The discount applies directly at checkout — no reimbursement paperwork
  3. First come, first served

Max discount?

Official says 「up to 15% per item,」 but actual amounts vary by category:

  • Phones: ~500 yuan max
  • AC units (energy-efficient): up to 800 yuan
  • Fridges/washers: 500-700 yuan
  • Computers: up to 800 yuan

The discount deducts directly. No action needed on your end.

But WAIT — important detail:

Lots of people make the same mistake — thinking you MUST trade in old stuff to qualify. Most e-commerce platforms actually have a 「no-trade-in needed」 policy. This info gap is costing people money.

Also, the timing is perfect — right before Labor Day AND 618 shopping festival. If you’ve been eyeing an upgrade, don’t wait. Buy now, enjoy sooner, maybe save more.

What’s on your upgrade list? I’m getting rid of my 6-year-old AC unit.
