Greasy Kitchen? I Use These 7 Lazy Methods to Clean It in 10 Minutes

Hey everyone, I used to really resist kitchen cleaning.

Greasy range hood, oil-covered stovetop, sink always having weird smells… Every time I thought about cleaning, I just wanted to order takeout instead.

But later I realized, it’s not that I’m lazy, but my methods were wrong—I used to think of kitchen cleaning as too “heavy,” always feeling like it needed major work and half a day.

Actually, kitchen cleaning can be lightweight, done in 10 minutes. Today I’ll share 7 lazy methods I figured out over two years, personally tested and effective.

Method 1: Range hood doesn’t need disassembly, use plastic wrap for oil

The grossest part of range hoods is the oil collection box—when full, oil won’t pour out and leaks everywhere.

My method: buy a roll of plastic wrap, cut small pieces, line the oil collection box with them. When oil is full, just throw away the plastic wrap, replace with a new piece—the oil box stays clean forever.

Method 2: Stovetop grease—baking soda + dish soap + plastic wrap

Stovetop grease is most stubborn, but I discovered a magical combo: baking soda + dish soap, mix into paste, apply to grease, cover with plastic wrap, let sit 15 minutes.

Then wipe, grease comes off, no scrubbing needed.

Method 3: Sink odor—baking soda + white vinegar

Sink drain always has odors, I weekly pour a spoon of baking soda + half cup white vinegar, wait for bubbling then flush with hot water—odor disappears immediately.

Method 4: Knife rust removal—potato peel

Don’t throw away rusty knives, rub with the inside of potato peels, rust fades. Learned this from a cleaning lady, really works.

Method 5: Cutting board disinfection—salt + lemon

Cutting boards develop smells over time, I sprinkle a layer of salt, wipe with cut lemon—disinfects and removes odor.

Method 6: Microwave oil stains—lemon water steam

Microwave interior always splattered with oil stains, I pour a bowl of water, squeeze some lemon juice, heat for 3 minutes. Steam softens oil stains, wipe clean after taking out.

Method 7: Refrigerator seal—toothpick + cotton swab

Refrigerator seal gaps full of mold spots, I wrap cotton swab with toothpick, dip in diluted bleach, wipe each gap one by one—mold spots gone.

Seriously, learn these 7 tricks, kitchen cleaning really doesn’t need half a day. Now I spend 10 minutes weekly, kitchen stays clean forever.

Listen everyone, cleaning isn’t about not being diligent enough, but about not being smart enough.

Final question: How often do you deep clean your kitchen? Are you “weekly once” or “wait until it’s unbearably dirty”?

Anyway, now I’m doing 10 minutes weekly, easy and done.
